Since the Los Angeles Clippers moved to L.A. from their two previous homes of San Diego and Buffalo, they have played as part of the National Basketball Association's Pacific Division. Before ever moving to the warm weather of Los Angeles, the Clippers franchise began in chilly Buffalo. The Buffalo Braves joined the NBA, along with the Portland Trail Blazers and Cleveland Cavaliers, in the 1970 season. During their eight seasons in New York, the Braves qualified for the postseason in three seasons, including two appearances in the Conference Semifinals, which they lost both times to the Boston Celtics.

Following the 1978 season, the team relocated to San Diego to become the San Diego Clippers. They would only last six seasons in San Diego before packing their basketball bags once again and heading to their final destination of Los Angeles. Since landing in the city of angels, the Clippers have not been able to find success but continue to strive for greatness.
