About Vans Warped Tour 2011

The tour is known for its eco friendly use of energy, employing the use of bio-diesel in buses, one solar-powered stage, and washable dishes and silverware. The Warped Tour was created by promoter Kevin Lyman in 1994 at the height of the punk revolution and originally featured skate punk and third-wave ska band, but now feature more hardcore punk and post-hardcore acts. Playing on the skating theme, the tour features a half pipe for skaters and bikers, and the tour itself has been sponsored by bicycling/skating shoe manufacturer Vans since 1995.
