After the release of the album Get Out of My Room in 1985, Cheech and Chong went their separate ways, citing creative differences. Chong largely continued on with a standup career, though he had a recurring role as Leo in That 70s Show and guest appearances in several other TV shows and movies. Marin, on the other hand, re-focused his time on movies and television. He starred as Inspector Joe Dominguez in Nash Bridges and has had a recurring role as David Reyes, the father of Hurley on Lost. He has also done voice acting work, providing voices for such roles as Banzai the Hyena in The Lion King and Ramone in Cars. Like Chong, he has guest-starred or had cameos in many other movies and television shows. In 2003, Cheech and Chong were planning to rejoin forces in a new movie when Tommy Chong was prosecuted for distributing drug paraphernalia and served nine months in prison. After his release, planning for the movie resumed, but it was ultimately canceled. In late 2008, the duo finally came back together for their Light It Up Tour, their first new tour in 25 years. Light It Up was a tremendous success, and the two plan to capitalize on their resurgence in popularity with a new set of dates in 2010 when they embark on their Get It Legal Tour.
